[This is the first of Games Toaster’s ‘email’ articles – see ending note] To all my fellow Irish Gamers I would like to announce the upcoming MidLans November (bring you own PC) LAN.
The MidLans group is an experienced and dedicated group of gamers who love nothing more than gaming among other Irish people who share there interests. This will be the MidLans group 11th event. The founders have been running LANs for three and half years and have an excellent reputation among Irish gamers in the midland region, and beyond. Now we are expanding, and attracting many more new faces to our LAN.
With a capacity for 120 participants, this 36 hour LAN is to take place from 10am Saturday November 12. The venue itself is the superb Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone, Co Wesmeath.
For the entry fee of 25 euro, we provide our attendees with a full gigabit network, 2 mbit/s internet connection, dedicated game servers, and a Wi-Fi network. In addition, attendees will have the optional entrance into any or all of our seven competitions - Battlefield 2 (6v6), Call of Duty United Offensive, Counter Strike 1.6 (5v5), Counter Strike Source (5v5), Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Warhammer Dawn of War.
As Irelands top players are expected to attend and fight to the last in there pursuit of glory, competition will be tough. Announcements regarding sponsors and prizes will be made shortly.
If you have any questions or want to know more please check out our site (www.midlans.net) or e-mail me at [email protected].

Note: With an aim to expanding Games Toaster’s reader input, this is the first of our reader-contributed editorials. With article titles starting with ‘EMAIL:’, representing our equivalent of the traditional letters or ‘mail bag’ page on printed publications. If you want an ‘email’ published, unlike our comments system, you will have to provide a name, address, and phone number – we may check if such details are correct. Text may be edited and will be published with a name and general address. Not all ‘emails’ will be published. Unlike some publications, we reserved our right to reply. Please mark clearly ‘for publication’ and send to [email protected].
