A still from a TV advertisement for Gaelic Games: Football.
With the release date of the GAA licensed football game, ‘Gaelic Games: Football’, revealed by Games Toaster hours before the issuing of the press release, we now have further details…
Whether it’s a quick game or a complete GAA season, players will be treated to 11 ‘photo realistic’ stadiums including Croke Park, O’Moore Park, Semple Stadium, Casement Park, and Pearse Stadium. All of the county teams are included, along with London and New York.
Commentary will be provided by Micheál Ó Muircheartaig. Irish language in-game menus and manual will be provided as an option.
The game will be in game shops on November 11, at an ‘estimated’ price of 63 euro or £40 UKP. It was developed by Australia developer IR Gurus, and is been published by Sony Computer Entertainment Ireland (SCE IE).
GAA president, Sean Kelly commented, “We are delighted that the game will be available for the Christmas market and I know there are many thousands of GAA fans who have been patiently awaiting the game’s arrival”.
“Following 10 successful years of PlayStation software sales in Ireland, it gives us enormous pleasure to launch this truly unique football gaming experience”, said Niall O’Hanrahan, MD, SCE IE. “It has taken a long time to get to this stage and the enthusiasm and encouragement from everyone at the GAA has been instrumental in helping us achieve this goal’. Last night at Sony’s annual party, and their 10th birthday party, we were told that a sequel would most likely follow the game, and that a Gaelic Hurley game is a possibility.

The full ad can be seen on www.owenroe-leckpatrick.ie/downloads/PlaystationGAAad.mpg.
The ad itself is very good, the game also looks excellent, Croke Park looks amazing, and the kits are very realistic. The Mayo forward scores a good goal at the Canal End.
If the above address doesn't work, go to www.owenroe-leckpatrick.ie and then click on the "U14s" section, where the link can be found.

We’ve removed a comment and placed it in “unpublished” status as it contained threats of violence.
Ok, even thought the person who post the threats of violence was probably joking or messing (as he addressed the threat to who ever made other comments, all of which, including the threat, were actually all posted from the same IP address, and most likely from the same computer), it is Games Toaster’s policy to ‘unpublish’ such comments, joking, or not.

now i can finally make mayo win the all-ireland!!!
Posted by: mayo fanatic | Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at 08:01 PM
You can't actually. The game has been made realistic so teams like Wicklow, London and Mayo can't win ALL-Irelands.

Mayo player scores own goal in video. They have had to re-do the whole ad because of this and that is why the links are not working.

A guy in school had it in today, said it was rubbish. I offered him 3 bottles of Football Special for it and he agreed, but I didn't have the juice with me. I'll just have to buy it tomorrow. What the hells the point of an agression button? he says that when tackling, the defender runs behind you, facing the wrong way, and then jumps on you. L1 and X is to shoot for goal, or to hit a low pass
